Hever Castle Triathlon 2013

In September 2013 Adam and Maisie Neale from Chaldon took part in the Hever Castle Triathlon, kindly donating their sponsorship money to the Patrick Evans Foundation.

Having Partied for Patrick at the end of August Adam (13) and Maisie (9) decided they wanted to support the Foundation, joining 1,300 other children at the event whcih took place in the castle's fantastic gardens.

Adam had just turned 13 and was in the top age category: "I found the 4k run at the end the hardest. The easiest part was the 8k cycle ride as I overtook many people."

For Maisie however, it was the run was the easiest part: "running is my favourite sport and I do a lot of sport" she said, adding "the hardest bit for me was the 100m swim the lake. It was freezing, luckily I was wearing a wetsuit."

Both Adam and Maisie are keen sportspeople and were inspired by the Foundation's aim to encourage and support sporting opportunities for young people. Adam said that he "wanted to raise money for P4P because sport is a very big part of my life and I like the fact that it helps others in sport, and I think everybody should be able to do sport." Likewise Maisie "wanted to raise money for Party 4 Patrick because I love sport and I know it helps others do sports."

We'd like to thank both Adam and Maisie for their very kind and generous donation of £75.
