Hackney Half 2014
09/06/2014Patrick's Cousin Ruby Maguire ran a half marathon for the Patrick Evans Foundation on 22nd June 2014, with a course inspired by the fantastic 2012 Games in East London.
Ruby completed the race in 2 hours 4 minutes raising almost £500 for the Foundation.
Ruby was running memory of her uncle Chris King, who tragically died last year after a battle with cancer, and the Foundation is intending to fund further donations towards Prostate Cancer research, which is one of its most important causes.
She said her supporters' generosity helped her brave the scorching heat to get a great time:
"I really enjoyed running the Hackney half marathon, it was harder than I expected because it was so hot that morning, but the atmosphere was amazing and that really helped me to push through the last few miles of the run!
"I love to run and it's a great sense of achievement to have completed it, and even greater to have had so many kind people donate to the foundation, I am really looking forward to seeing the next project that the money will go towards.
